You can bring the suppliers you already work with into Speya and work with them the same way as any discovered supplier: enrich them, monitor them, and compare them against new searches.

Two ways to bring suppliers in
Upload an Excel or CSV file when you have a list of suppliers to bring in at once.
Add suppliers by name in chat when you only have a few known names, up to around 20 at a time. Ask Speya to add them and it researches each one and places it in your list.
Both put your suppliers in a list that behaves exactly like a search result, so you can enrich and monitor them the same way.
Upload a file
Prepare your file. Include the supplier's company name (required) and website URL (recommended). The URL is how Speya confirms it has the right company, which matters because company names alone are easily confused, especially non-Latin names. If you don't have URLs, you can add them afterwards as an enrichment.
Decide what else you want to bring in. Company name, website, country, and description map automatically as standard fields. Any other column in your file — internal IDs, categories, spend, existing enrichments — comes in too; you'll match it to a custom field in the next step.
Upload the file. Speya reads it and shows you how each column was understood — which ones matched a standard field, and at what confidence, and which are being kept as extra info (text, number, or date). Correct any mapping that's wrong, or exclude a column with 'Don't import this column'.
Continue to create your list. Speya verifies each supplier, removes duplicates where it can, and prepares the list for enrichment.
Your suppliers now sit in a list you can work with like any other: add enrichment columns, monitor them, and compare them against new searches. For how to decide what's valuable for your case to researching and how to frame it well, see Researching your existing supplier base.
Prompt library
Every prompt here is something you type to Speya.
Bringing suppliers in
“Add [Company A], [Company B], and [Company C] to make a list of our existing suppliers within [Category B / Overall].”
Speya researches each named supplier and adds it to your list.
“Find the website URLs for the suppliers in this list.”
Speya adds a column with each supplier’s website, useful when you uploaded names without URLs.
“Update the supplier's metadata link with the website URL from the research column."
Speya writes the found URL into the supplier's actual website link field, rather than leaving it in a separate static text column.
FAQ
How does Speya confirm an uploaded supplier is the right company?
The website URL is the main check. Company names alone are harder to match, especially recurring names or non-Latin scripts, so include the URL where you can. If you only have names, upload them and ask Speya to fill in the URLs as an enrichment before you rely on the data.
Why did it find almost nothing for my parent or holding company?
Verification runs off the company name and website URL, and holding companies often have no website of their own to anchor on. Add the operating brands underneath the parent instead, each with its own website, and keep the parent name in a separate field so you can roll results back up for reporting.
Can I import data beyond company name and website?
Yes. You can bring in any data point you already have. When you upload an Excel or CSV file, Speya maps company name, website, country and description automatically. Every other column in your file, such as internal IDs, categories or spend, can be mapped to a custom column in the review step that appears after upload. So there's no need to strip your file down first.
Can I connect our ERP, SAP, or supplier database?
Yes, we have an API. Direct system-to-system connections are handled case by case, reach out to your CSM or ponit of contact and they will tell you more.
